Anaina Hou Community Park and the Henry Kapono Foundation proudly present Home in the Islands Kauaʻi, a three-day celebration of Hawaiʻi’s music, culture, and community at the Porter Pavilion in Kīlauea. This collaboration unites Anaina Hou’s dedication to nurturing local culture with the Henry Kapono Foundation’s mission to uplift Hawaiʻi’s music industry through mentorship and creative opportunity. Together, they champion live music on Kauaʻi, inspire and empower the island’s next generation of artists, and celebrate the enduring spirit of aloha that connects us all.

Day 1 -  From Song to Stage

A Master Class in Building a Career
in Hawai‘i’s Music Industry

Venue: Porter Pavilion, Anaina Hou Community Park

Join us for an inspiring day of workshops that empower Hawai‘i’s musicians, covering everything from songwriting and performance to the business of music. Designed for emerging artists and industry professionals, this hands-on program combines mentorship, education, and live performance opportunities. Guided by celebrated mentors Henry Kapono, Brother Noland, Kalena Parish, Kalaʻe Parish, and Alx Kawakami participants will learn to refine their craft, build their careers, and connect their passion to purpose.

The afternoon concludes with an Open Mic Jam Session. Bring your instrument. Bring your voice. Jump in! Wrap up the day making music alongside our guest artists and Kauaʻi's music community.

Aloha Unplugged is an intimate evening celebrating the stories behind Hawaiʻi’s music. Set in the beautiful Porter Pavilion at Anaina Hou Community Park, this exclusive sponsor dinner and gala brings together Henry Kapono, Jerry Santos & Kamuela Kimokeo, Brother Noland, Kalaʻe & Kalena Parish, and special On The Rise artists for an unforgettable songwriter-style experience. 

 

Hosted by Anaina Hou Community Park featuring the evening's Master of Ceremonies, Alx Kawakami, guests will enjoy acoustic performances, personal stories, and heartfelt conversations that reveal the inspiration, friendships, and traditions behind the songs that have become the soundtrack of Hawaiʻi.

 

More than a concert, Aloha Unplugged is an evening of music, storytelling, and connection; offering rare insight into the On The Rise Program's mission and impact while bringing awareness to Anaina Hou Community Park's involvement and efforts to provide a home base on Kaua'i and help bring this program statewide while giving the attendee behind-the-scenes experience before Saturday’s Henry Kapono & Friends GoodTimes Together Ft: The Songs of C&K, Jerry Santos & Kamuela Kimokeo, Brother Noland, Kalaʻe & Kalena Parish, and Hawaiʻi’s next generation of artists.
